Don Jazzy and new signee, Ayra Starr in a web of controversy

Don Jazzy and his newest signee, Ayra Starr in Mavin record studio

Marvin Record label boss, Michael Ajereh, professionally known as Don Jazzy has defended his latest signee, Ayra Starr from being bullied on social media, by a Wizkid fan.

The Wizkid fan was sentimental about Ayra Starrs’s EP, which became number one on apple music just barely 24hrs after it was released.

Hours after Don Jazzy announced the new signee and released her EP, the Wizkid fan claimed that Ayra copied Starboy’s SWEET ONE, of his Made In Lagos album.

“What did I just hear??? This new Mavin girl sampled sweet one??
She no evn allow the song age small. Later dem go open their mouth say no be Wiz inspire them….we dey wait,” he wrote.

However, Don Jazzy wasn’t having any of that. Adressing the issue, he revealed that Ayra Starr recorded her just released track even before Wizkid released his Made In Lagos album.

Don Jazzy said;

“First things first Wiz is definitely an inspiration to every artist from Nigeria in the last decade and beyond but this particular sample is from The website Splice. Almost every new producer gets samples from there. Ayra’s song was recorded way before MIL came out too sir.”
